DISCOVER HIDDEN TREASURE AT MOTAT Get the whole family along to MOTAT for an exciting new adventure at the new ‘Treasure Hunt Weekend Experience’. Work as a team and follow the clues from your map to find each MOTAT treasure. Read the clues carefully and take in every hint to get the right answer and move on to the next clue. In this exciting new ‘Weekend Experience’ the kids can learn while they play, reading about historic New Zealanders and artefacts while searching for their next clue. Be sure to hand in your map at the end of the day and your team could be in to win some real MOTAT treasure in the monthly prize draw!
Voyager1 - 4D experience
Shaped like a space ship, the Voyager 1 is a New Zealand made 4D simulator that will take you on a thrilling virtual reality adventure – all featured on a gigantic 9 x 4 metre theatre screen.
A ride on Voyager 1 comes as part of your MOTAT admission fee.
The Pumphouse Beam Engine is not running at present due to restoration repair work to the Pumphouse Building.
The Pumphouse Beam Engine usually runs every Thursday afternoon 12pm to 1pm and 2pm to 3pm. It also runs on special MOTAT events.
